Lionel Edwards Oil on Panel at Spring Sporting Sale

A signed and inscribed oil on panel by well-regarded artist Lionel Edwards is the likely highlight at Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s Spring Sporting Sale on Thursday, April 6.
The auction house is quoting a guide price of £5,000-£8,000 for the painting which features huntsmen and hounds. It is signed by the artist and is inscribed “wet evening, Horner” to the top.
It has been consigned by a North Somerset vendor.

An image of a sleeping wolfhound is also likely to appeal to salegoers. It has a guide price of £500-£700.
Viewing for the sale takes place on Tuesday, April 4, and Wednesday, April 5, between 9am and 4pm. There is also a chance to view between 9am and 10am on April 6.
The sale commences at 2pm at The Octagon Salerooms, East Reach, Taunton, following the conclusion of the regular monthly antiques sale.
The specialist biannual sporting sale is put together by Valuer Stuart Triggol and draws vendors and buyers from around the country and the globe.
