Continued strong demand for fresh milk at SAC Dispersal

The Garrett Bros dispersal of their 7,000kgs all year around crossbred grazing herd saw fresh 3^rd calvers to £3255 and £3150 with 2^nd lactation cows by Cogent HRC Lannister also at £3150.  The first 100 cows through the ring which included June to September calvers and those due until November averaged over £2000 to include all faults.

The spring trade was more selective with young cows and those milking well selling to an advantage over frailer and older cows.

30 successful purchasers around the ring and on Marteye to include a strong Welsh contingent resulted in an impressive overall average of £1785 which included 80 cows in their 5^th to 9^th lactations and ¾ cows.
