Machinery sales boom with sales across the South
April 2024
Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt, who celebrated their 180th anniversary last year, have been selling machinery for many years. One date that is firmly fixed (apart from this year’s postponement due to weather) is the 69 year old Walford Cross Sale, which can boast being the largest one day machinery sale in the South. It features over 3,000 lots of tractors, vehicles, machinery, livestock equipment and miscellaneous items. Over the past few years, the firm has established further collective sales across the South, as well as conducting numerous on-farm dispersals.
Late spring is looking to be a busy time for GTH, with Walford Cross pushed back to 9th May, dispersals in Ivybridge, Kingsbridge, Weston-super-Mare, Wincanton as well as collective sales in North Somerset and Yeovil in May, followed by Berkeley and Sedgemoor in June.
Autumn collective sales are already booked for South Devon in August, East Devon in September, Chepstow in November and Sedgemoor in October and December. It is safe to say the sales calendar is bursting!
These collective sales offer the opportunity for vendors to sell anything from one item to a mini dispersal. Over the past few years, there has been a great turnout with a variety of implements ranging from livestock and harvest equipment to vehicles and tractors.
All tractor, vehicle and machinery sections also receive online bids via Marteye. This means that each sale is open to a wider audience, with bidders able to attend the ‘traditional’ sale in person or bid from the comfort of their own homes or farmyards.
