Ambitious plans for major development site

Land earmarked for home plus a mobility hub with extra train station parking is being offered for sale by property specialists Greenslade Taylor Hunt.
The site off Station Road, Crewkerne, extends to 16.61 hectares (41.04 acres) and is less than a mile from the town centre and sits opposite the train station.
“An application for 325 dwellings will be expected to deliver approximately 114 affordable dwellings and numerous education streams,” explained Mark Chugg, Partner with GTH.
The proposed residential scheme will offer a mix of housing types along with commercial space. The scheme will be accessed by a new roundabout from Station Road to the South East of the site. A secondary access is proposed further North on Station Road.
The proposals have been the subject of pre-application discussions with South Somerset District Council and more recently Somerset Council.
Both authorities agreed the plans were acceptable in principle.
An outline planning application was submitted to Somerset Council on September 4, 2025. All matters are reserved, except for access. A decision is awaited.
Now GTH are offering the site for sale by informal tender, conditional on the grant of outline planning permission.
