Detailed planning consent for barn conversion

December 2024

Demand is expected to be strong for a building plot with detailed planning permission to convert a barn into an outstanding home.

“This is an exceptional conversion opportunity in a rural location, with views over open countryside yet within close proximity to Street and Millfield School,” said a spokesman for development land and property specialists Greenslade Taylor Hunt, who are marketing the opportunity.

The plot at Ivythorn Lane, near Street, extends to around 0.16 hectares (0.39 acres) and is on the market at a guide price of offers in the region of £265,000.

It is in a rural location within a short drive of Street and its amenities.

In November 2023 detailed planning consent was granted for the conversion of the barn into an attractive five-bedroom home together with a new build double garage and garden store.

The spacious property will have a gross internal floor area of approximately 241.76 sq m (2,602 sq ft). The ground floor will feature an open plan living, kitchen and dining room with vaulted ceiling, separate sitting room, utility/boot room, bathroom and four bedrooms – two ensuite. The first floor will be devoted to another ensuite bedroom.

There will be a series of opportunities to view this appealing opportunity on Tuesday, January 7, and Tuesday, January 14, between 9am-11am. These viewings must be pre-booked and are by appointment only.

The deadline for the submission of offers is midday on Friday, January 24.
