East Devon Call for Development Sites

April 2022

A “Call for Sites” has been launched by East Devon District Council to identify land that could be developed for housing and employment.

The council is particularly keen to find “brownfield” sites, which have been previously built on, that could be used for development as well as to earmark new and intensified development on under-used land, within or adjacent to villages that have a reasonable range of services.

It also wants to pinpoint more small sites suitable for residential development. This will help the council fulfil Government aspirations to accommodate 10% of the council’s housing development on sites of less than 1 hectare (around 2.5 acres).

Land of all sizes is being considered for potential employment purposes too.

The council is also looking for land that would be suitable for gypsy and traveller accommodation.

This “Call for Sites” concludes at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 10. Sites previously submitted should not be re-submitted as they have already been assessed.
