Former Library Offers Plenty of Potential

August 2025

A redundant library, set in the centre of a thriving West Somerset village, could be re-purposed for a range of commercial or residential uses.

The former library building in Killick Way, Williton, is no longer required as its services have been re-located to a hub in the village.

The vacant site, which extends to around 0.03 hectares (0.08acres) could, subject to planning, offer commercial or residential alternatives.

It is among a number of buildings being sold off by Somerset Council as surplus to requirements.

It is on the market at a guide price of £150,000. The deadline for the submission of offers is 12 noon on Friday, October 24.

The modern detached single storey building features an open plan lending library area, with office, staff room, kitchenette, disabled WC and storage areas.

Outside is a small gated parking area and a bin storage space.
