Self-build Plots Close to Great Transport Links

May 2026

Two prime residential plots near the £4 billion gigafactory at Puriton, near Bridgwater, are on the market with us.

The plots extend to around 0.2 hectares (0.5 acres) and are accessed via Woolavington Road. The access will be shared between the new-builds and an existing cottage.

Somerset Council granted outline planning permission for the homes back in 2023. Any prospective buyer will need to submit a reserved matters application to detail the appearance, landscaping, layout and scale of the proposed houses.

The homes will be open market and are likely to be four-bedroom detached properties with double garages.

Each plot is on the market at a guide price of £125,000 or £250,000 for the whole site.

The land is conveniently positioned within easy reach of Bridgwater and the M5.

Currently around 600 people are working on the Gravity site and this figure is expected to rise over the next year.

Agratas, a subsidiary of Tata, the Indian conglomerate, is in the process of developing the site for the production of electric vehicle batteries for Jaguar Land Rover. The facility is expected to be operational next year.

This and the ongoing development of Hinkley C – the nearby nuclear power station – is creating immense demand for new homes in the area.

Offers for the self-build plots are invited on a conditional basis. For more information and to arrange a viewing please contact George Williams or Pippa Savage on 01823 334466 or email [email protected] or [email protected]
