Sell-off of former children's centre

August 2025

A redundant former council building in the heart of Williton is on the market with development land and planning specialists Greenslade Taylor Hunt.

The firm believes the property has potential for a range of other uses including commercial or residential, subject to planning.

The former children’s centre at Killick Way, Williton, is in the middle of the village and extends to approximately 0.03 hectares (0.08 acres).

The two- storey building consists of a mix of classrooms, consulting room, disabled toilet and kitchen. On the first floor there is a large open-plan classroom, family room, separate kitchen, two more toilets and storage. Usefully the building benefits from a platform lift.

There is no allocated parking, but the property is adjacent to a public car park.

It is on the market at a guide price of £215,000. The deadline for the submission of offers is 12 noon on Friday, September 26.

Williton sits at the junction of the A39 and A358 making it a convenient base for those commuting to work in Taunton or Bridgwater.

It is also conveniently placed for easy access to the coast and countryside.

It is being sold off by Somerset Council as it is among a range of buildings no longer required by the authority.
