Strategic land suitable for housing in Cornwall
October 2024
Development land and planning specialists Greenslade Taylor Hunt are marketing land close to Launceston town centre, which could provide much-needed housing for the town.
Cornwall Council has declared a housing crisis in the county. In February 2024 GTH made representations to the council on the land’s suitability, availability and deliverability for development.
The land is to the East of Kensey Valley Meadow, adjacent to a housing estate and to the East of Launceston town centre. It extends to approximately 1.7 acres (4.2 hectares).
Mark Chugg, Partner with GTH, said: “There is a window of opportunity to capitalise on the need for housing growth in Launceston to support the emerging Cornwall Local Plan. This will enable the land to be brought forward as an allocation for development.”
The deadline for the submission of offers is 12 noon on Friday, 22nd November 2024.
Offers are being accepted either as an unconditional sale (with or without overage) or subject to either a promotion agreement with a land promoter or an option agreement with a housebuilder.
