A passion for property propels Joanna to Williton

We are delighted to announce Joanna Elgar as the new Residential Sales Manager for our Williton branch.
Joanna said: “2023/24 Is a very exciting time for me. I am extremely happy to be part of GTH and leading the team in Williton.
It is an absolute pleasure to be able to provide a first-class service to our vendors and assist them in finding their next home. We have a great year ahead and many more to come.”
Joanna grew up in Berkshire and has always taken an interest in property.
“My father was excellent at buying country properties and renovating them to a high standard, so I was lucky to have lived in some fantastic houses growing up. I grew up in Bucklebury, Berkshire, and lived at Turners Green House for half of my childhood," Joanna explained.
She worked as a negotiator at an estate agency in Oxfordshire in her 20s and then studied osteopathic medicine, but decided that this was not for her. She ran her own business for 10 years, but a house move saw her return to her original love of estate agency.
Joanna worked in North Devon where she focused on the rural sector progressing from a negotiator to a senior valuer with a number of well-regarded West Country agents.
As well as a passion for property Joanna is a keen equestrian and has kept horses since birth. She worked for an international competition yard in Oxfordshire in her teens and 20s and was a keen showjumper.
“Now I just enjoy the occasional hack out on my ex-racer and walking my three dogs Pip, Penny and Gilbert. I love the North Devon coast and like to spend time when I can, in Instow, walking, cycling or just camping out with the dogs and family,” said Joanna.
She has bought and sold a number of properties over the years and very much enjoys a project so she is well placed to advise buyers looking to embrace the delights of a rural, outdoor lifestyle.
“The market in West Somerset right now is positive. I’m really excited about this year and being able to put Williton on the map as the leading local rural and residential agent,” said Joanna.
