April finishes with a flourish at property auction
April 2025
Greenslade Taylor Hunt brought April to a close with another successful and well-attended land and property auction at The Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster.
GTH auctioneer, Jamie Batt MRICS FAAV, opened proceedings with the first lot; 3.29 acres of land at Fordgate, Bridgwater. There was competitive bidding in the room which resulted in an exciting sale at almost £30,000 over the guide price.
One of the highlights of this auction was a detached three-bedroom farmhouse with tremendous renovation potential. Sitting in beautiful countryside just outside the market town of Langport in Somerset, the gavel came down at £380,000.
In addition to many in-room sales, this auction also saw the sale of 34 acres of land at Pawlett Hams, Bridgwater, to an online bidder – highlighting the successful use of the livestream service. This facility enables sales to be viewed by a wider range of potential buyers and not just restricted to in room bidders.
The next similar sale will take place on Wednesday, May 21, at The Aldwick Estate, Redhill. Lots include a substantial five-bedroom house, for renovation, in Barnstaple with a guide price of £250,000.
The June auction will be conducted on Thursday, June 26, at The Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster, for which entries are invited.
