Bumper Spring property and land auction
April 2024
A rare and exciting development opportunity in the heart of the popular village of West Pennard, near Glastonbury, was one of the highlights at Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s recent successful property and land sale at Batch Country House, Lympsham, near Weston-super-Mare.
The desirable plot, which had outline planning permission to build a four-bedroom dwelling, gave prospective buyers the chance to put their own stamp on the design, subject to the necessary consents.
The ample plot, extending to approximately 0.48 acres (0.19 Ha) in total, drew a good deal of interest and comfortably exceeded its guide price of £250,000.
The successful buyer secured the appealing site, which occupies a wonderful position on the south side of Newton Lane for £265,000.
Other prices of note included two parcels of land at Mark Moor,Mark. Land extending to 14.43 acres at Little Moor Road, Mark Moor, went for £186,000 – nearly £30,000 more than its pre-sale guide.
Another plot of 9.49 acres at River Road, Mark Moor, sold for £165,000 from a pre-sale estimate of £110,000.
Auctioneer Robert Baker said: “We held a bumper Spring land and property auction. Some excellent prices were achieved from a packed room of potential buyers, as well as bidders both online and on the phone.”
Robert added: “It was good to have a large entry of land lots, which were sold to a range of farmer buyers and investors which ensured competitive bidding throughout.”
The firm’s next property auction takes place at The Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster, on April 25, and another is scheduled for May 22, at Aldwick Estate, Redhill, Blagdon, Bristol. Both start at 2pm. Further entries are now invited for the May auction.
