Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt report a huge success, with impressive attendance, strong bidding, and some excellent prices achieved at their first foray into auctions in South Devon.
The firm has a strong track record in successful property and land sales across Somerset and the move to Shilstone, Ivybridge, has continued that trend.
Many of the lots on offer last week sold for comfortably in excess of their guide prices. In the case of the Cockington Visitor Centre at Torquay it went for three times its pre-sale estimate. The gavel coming down at £241,000.
The successful purchasers aim to retain the building as a visitor centre and make space available for the community of Cockington.
