In Demand Land Pushes Auction Total To £1M Mark

May 2023

A bustling saleroom attracted keen bidding at the second North Somerset Auction held by Greenslade Taylor Hunt at Aldwick Estate.

A variety of bidders, including developers and investors, ensured the prices for land in particular comfortably exceeded pre-sale estimates.

It was North Somerset land that created the most spirited bidding with just shy of £20,000 per acre achieved for 5.5 acres in Dundry, just outside of Bristol.

A single parcel of agricultural land extending to 12.03 acres at Ashton, Wedmore, sold for £184,000 – easily surpassing its guide price.

Auctioneer Robert Baker, Associate with Greenslade Taylor Hunt, said: “With bids coming from local people, investors and developers looking at land for offsetting purposes, the land at Dundry and Wedmore exceeded expectations.”

Disappointed bidders who missed out on land at this sale have another opportunity to secure a purchase at Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s next property auction at The Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster, on May 31, from 2pm.

This will feature a comprehensive range of land, residential property and investment opportunities.
