Land Lots Fly At Auction As Prices Rocket
September 2026
Greenslade Taylor Hunt held a fantastic auction at the Batch Country House, Lympsham, which saw a number of land lots far exceed vendors expectations.
The auction went off like a rocket and saw the first two lots of land at Templecombe dwarf their initial guide price estimates. The 3.73 acres of land and buildings at Common Lane finally saw the hammer come down at £192,000 from a guide price of £60,000.
The following lot immediately next door saw similar interest and the hammer land at £151,000 from a guide price of £45,000.
Other lots of land were equally in strong demand with 24.49 acres of land at Hinton Blewett, near Bristol, achieve £322,000 (£13,148 per acre) having seen competitive bidding in the room.
Other highlights included 2.75 acres of land and buildings at Common Moor Drove, Glastonbury, achieve £124,000 and 5.84 acres of land and building at South Brewham achieve £190,000.
Auctioneer, Robert Baker commented: “It was great to see several fantastic auction results with many lots far exceeding our vendors expectations. Demand for land appears to be strong with a number of potential buyers going home disappointed. Some lots also sold prior to auction and it was great to achieve an excellent clearance rate on lots.”
The next auction takes place on Wednesday, October 21, at the Aldwick Estate, Blagdon, near Bristol.
