The lure of Langport
May 2024
Estate agent Chris Watts is the new Residential Manager in our Langport office, but he is no stranger to the town, which he has called home for the past seven years.
“It has everything you need. It’s a busy and vibrant place with lovely river walks. It felt like a lovely place from the moment I started looking for a home here,” explained Chris.
Initially working in property management Chris made the switch to estate agency where he could pursue his love of housing and engaging with people.
“I love the satisfaction of finding the right person for the house,” said Chris, who has worked in a variety of rural and town settings, valuing all types of property.
He prides himself on his attention to detail and providing the highest level of customer service.
Away from work Chris enjoys pottering in the garden, enjoying dog walks in the Somerset countryside and sport.
Presently the property market in Langport is on the up, with plenty of people looking for homes, particularly at the £400,000 plus bracket. Indeed, GTH’s Langport office is on track to record one of its best sales months.
Eighteenth century Windmill Farm at Pibsbury, near Langport, was among the notable recent agreed sales. Bought at a GTH auction as a wreck 14 years ago the vendors spent a full 12 months lovingly restoring the property to its former glory. Now it provides a beautiful home augmented by attractive holiday accommodation, which the current vendors have created.
It created a good deal of interest when it came onto the market, but all types of property are currently being sought in the Langport area.
Chris feels there is plenty of pent-up demand in the market with people keen to move at all stages of their property journeys. First time buyers have been constrained by mortgage and cost of living challenges. However, more people are putting these concerns aside and taking their next steps along the property ladder.
For help and advice on a property move in Langport and the surrounding area please contact Chris and the knowledgeable team on 01458 250589, find out more about the team here or call into the office at The Shopping Parade.
