Tranquil Spot For Five Open Market Homes

June 2026

A developer has the chance to become “top dog” with the opportunity to transform part of a former boarding kennels into a desirable housing scheme.

The exceptional site, between the popular villages of Limington and Ilchester in South Somerset, has outline planning permission to create five open market homes.

Part of the former Moonwinds Kennels, Limington, near Yeovil, the site extends to approximately 0.45-hectares (1.1-acres).

Outline planning permission was granted in September 2025 for the demolition of existing buildings and the creation of five new homes, plus a new access off Limington Road, together with associated infrastructure works.

Any prospective buyer will need to submit a reserved matters application to detail the appearance, landscaping, layout and scale of the proposed development.

A bungalow and amenity land, which has a separate access point off Limington Road, will be retained.

Any prospective purchaser will have to install a new package treatment plant to serve the bungalow and the new development. The septic tank currently used by the bungalow will be decommissioned and will connect into the new package treatment plant.

To see the potential of the site, a series of viewing days are being held on Wednesdays, July 1 and 8, between 9am and 11am. All viewings are strictly by appointment and must be booked with Greenslade Taylor Hunt.

Offers are invited on an unconditional basis for the site.  The deadline for the submission of offers is 5.30pm on Tuesday, July 28.
