5 exceed £2600 at July Collective Sale

Once again milk was the most in demand section at the monthly collective sale at Sedgemoor Auction Centre featuring consignments from Caerphilly, Cornwall, Devon, Hampshire, Herefordshire, Kent, Monmouthshire, Oxford, Somerset & Sussex.  

A shorter supply of fresh milk saw demand continue for the best quality milking heifers with 5 topping at 2550gns (£2677.5) Two outstanding heifers from the Clenchers herd, Allerways, Beaconhill and Hillbarn all hit the top price. Top 10 heifers averaged over £2500!

Cows topped at 2450gns (£2572.5) for Beaconhill Crown Royal Linda from MKJ Reed & Son. Clenchers Nuberon Jovial sold for 2350gns (£2467.5) and Moorshard tropic Amanda and Allerways Arrow Gretal sold for 2300gns (£2415).  Top 10 Cows averaged £2300. 

A massive 121 Incalf heifers topped at £2100 for Lanover Sedona Rae from John & Ben Young and Families whose consignment represents the dispersal of the Lanover herd. Commercial Holsteins sold to £2047.5 twice from Skinner & Son. Other incalf heifers from the Murrell herd dispersal to 1900gns & 1800gns.  

Bulling heifers sold to 900gns x2 & 850gns for commercial heifers from PH & DA Winter. And 820 gns for TJ & LJ Hirst.   
 
Yearlings sold to 1050gns for Lanover Applejax Erle, with other yearlings from John Young to 850gns and 840gns. Ayrshire yearlings from Packer & Rowe to 600gns. 

Mainly young calves on offer this month topped at 300gns for fleckvieh cross from PH & DA Winter. 

A day with over 42 individual successful buyers spanning the breadth of the entire South West of England and Wales and selling to Surrey and Wrexham creating the following excellent averages:
