60% of the commercial non recorded cows sell for over £2000 to a top of £2940 at Dorset on Farm Dispersal

100 years of dairy farming and breeding was rewarded with an electric trade for the Ellis family’s dispersal sale at Lower Coombe Farm, Rampisham. 

2nd calvers due September by Seagull-ay Kimball topped the day at £2940 staying in Dorset with another by Abs Lateral at £2835. April and May calved 2nd lactation to £2730 x2, with 20 over £2500 and 82 over £2000 on the day. May calved heifers to £2520 for daughters of Lars-Acres Modest Trophy. 

Incalf heifers topped at £2415 for another Trophy daughter due in September. Bulling heifers to 900gns x3 for daughters of Sandy-Valley Piston, Sietskeshoeve K&L GN Charming and Siemers Darwin, with yearlings to 780gns Westcoast Red Carpet daughters. Heifer calves by Siemers Darwin and Fairmont Ridgeline born February to 580gns. The five year old Pedigree Hereford Bull Lanscombe 1 Wotsit generated spirited bidding with the hammer coming down at £2782.50.

An excellent crowd for this on farm sale also produced the following highlights for the machinery sold on the day.

JCB TM3205 £52,400, Keenan Mech Fibre 380 Feeder £32,000, Joskin Modulo2 Slurry Tanker £22,000, DAL-B0 Folding Rollers £10,200, JD855D Gator £8100, Bailey Flat Bed Trailer £6500, Herringbone Parlour £6100 and Ifor Williams Stock Trailer £5600.

The sale on farm in Dorset drew buyers from Wales & Cornwall which combined with strong local support produced the following pleasing averages: -
