August's Scorching Prices to Rival the Heat
September 2026
A hectic August for Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s farm sales team with five machinery sales, including three roaming collectives in North, South and East Devon, along with the GTH machinery sales hub at Sedgemoor Auction Centre and another online only sale that is currently live.
East Devon kicked things off hosted just outside of Yarcombe on Tuesday 11th. The extreme heat of the day didn’t deter buyers with some excellent prices being reached including: £20,000 for a JCB 3205 Telehandler, £17,000 for a Bailey 20ft low loader Trailer and £10,200 for a J5130 Excavator.
Only two days later, the Sedgemoor Collective offered a quality line up of entries, including various dispersals; with prices topping at: £19,000 for a Claas 510 Tractor c/w Quicke loader, £18,000 for a Kubota M7040 Tractor and £17,600 for a John Deere 6920 Tractor.
Next up was the new sales fixture in North Devon; despite being an inaugural sale, a good quality entry was consigned and a large among of local machinery and vehicles drew in a crowd. Headline prices included: £9,000 for a Takeuchi TB175 Excavator, £6,100 for a Ford 4610 Tractor and £3,500 for a McConnel PA93 hedge trimmer.
Finally, to round things off the South Hams collective ended the month well with an excellent turnout of both lots and buyers. Prices continued to soar including: £19,250 for a Massey Ferguson 6470 Dyna 6 Tractor, £ 12,000 for a Solis 50 RX Tractor and £9,800 for an Amazone 2.5m Combi Drill.
Auctioneer Tom Mellor comments, “GTH would like to thank all of our vendors who continue to support our regional sales, enabling GTH to bring a traditional farm sales on their doorstep with the benefit of online bidding and buyers from further afield.”
