Beaconhill sell to £3570 to top SAC Collective Dairy Sale
July 2026
Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s July Collective Dairy Sale saw the first signs of an easing in the trade for off lying or older cows as concerns over the lack of grass due to the continued hot weather start to have an effect. That said quality and milk was still in strong demand for both fresh calvers and incalf heifers. The 60kg 2nd calver Beaconhill Fitz Janet (VG88) from MJK Reed and Son sold to £3570 to top the day with their VG87 pointed Haniko Els another 2nd calver at £3150. The calved heifers sold to £3150 for the 38kgs Peacehay Harris Fairy 105th from regular consigners FH Chave & Son who sold others to £3045 as did RK & SG Miller & Sons for Moorshard Rastor Golden.
The day included a number of dispersal sales with the complete dispersal for TL Rosewell & Son commercial herd topping at £3255 for the May calved Red & White 2nd lactation cow served again. CG Capon continued dispersal sold cows to £2572.50 for the July 3rd lactation calved cow giving 32kgs.
The strong incalf heifer trade continued with ‘Dorset’ heifers from the Dimond family, again topping the day at £3360 for the September calving Dorset Pursuit Helen with others to £3150 for members of the Princess and Joy families. Their 6 heifers averaged an impressive £3139.50. Other incalf heifers to £3045 for the August calving Carymoor Getrich Eve from R & J Targett and the commercial heifer by Abs Sassafras being the first incalf heifer consignment to be sold as part of the continued CG Capon dispersal from the Isle of Wight. First time consigners Perry Farm Ltd sold heifers calving a 2 years of age in September to £2572.50 x 2 for Perryorchard Sidekick Blonde and a commercial heifer by VH Dent Don Red.
The bulling heifer trade remained strong topping at £1575 x 6 for The Cooke Partnership and their pedigree Cullyford Heifers and the continued dispersal for Garrett Bros and their Swedish Red x commercial heifers.
