Beef Shorthorn Society Supported Sale at Sedgemoor

Greenslade Taylor Hunt were delighted to be asked to host a Beef Shorthorn Society Supported Sale as part of their April Catalogued Suckler Sale at Sedgmoor Auction Centre on Saturday 11th April.  The sale drew a great deal of interest and an excellent trade from start to finish.  5 bulls forward sold to £5,000 for Rosejoyan Fairy Thomas (HH) born May 2023 by Glenisla Jack Frost out of Cairnsmore Jane Fairy Alexis from Carol Rowse, £4800 Tofts Missouri R647 (PP) 5 years old by Tofts West Point from Hewitt & Wood, £4800 Treventon Vortex (Pp) (ET) by Dakota of Upsall he was 2 years old and polled, £3000 Wivey Victor (PP) P Willis and £2700 for the 9 month old bull Prestcombe The Watchman (P) by Stanfordpark Rawhide for Alice Newth.

A great demand for females topped at £4100 for the yearling Chapel Bradwith Bud Winnie (P) sired by Fearn Ranginui she was Dark Roan and followed Chapel Bright Wren (P) through the ring who sold for £3000 both from Mr M Price of Powys.  The only cow and calf of the day was Tonemoor Pansy who had calved to her second at under three years and was sold with her heifer calf at foot for £3400 for Arthur Whittle.  CT & MA Ruby sold Quethiock Valerie (H) by Hannington Richard for £2700, Tonemoor Pansy 41 (P) a roan yearling heifer from Arthur Whittle sold for £2500 as did the 8month old Treventon White Rose (P) from AK & JK Smith.  Malthouse Wisteria (P) and Malthouse Barrington Wish (P) May 2025 born heifers from TW Roberts & Son £2000 each.
