Calved Cows & Heifers to £3360 at SAC

The Mid-Summer Collective sale at SAC saw a continued strong trade for the best milkers and youngstock despite concerns over lack of rain.

 

Topping at £3360 was the 2nd calved Clenchers Applejax Whiteheather 6th GP81 from Rea & Son and the calved heifer Peacehay Atmosphere Sheila 181st from FH Chave & Son, who also sold the 2nd calver Peacehay Denver Rachel 13th VG85 for £3097.50.

 

Other calved heifers to £3202.50 for first time consigners AS Coles & Son with Colespark Flowrider Naoma 2nd who had calved in June. Mendip System Christine 119th from T R Quick calved in May, sold for £3150.

 

A good selection of incalf heifers sold to £2625 for Tungrove Altaallaric Iona due August to sexed semen for A C Daniell & Son, who sold members of the Kitty family to £2572.50. At the same price was the homebred heifer from PD & JL Biss’s continued dispersal, who was due August to the Hereford, a second of their heifers sold for £2520. British Friesian heifers due September/October from Lakemead sold to £2016.

 

BA & G Hill’s consignment of well grown yearling and younger heifers sold to £1312.50 x3 for 11 month old heifers by Winstar Parfect Cirrus P ET and Lars-Acres George Miller ET.

 

Heifer calves from JF Cobb & Sons were in demand selling to £735x6 for March and April born calves by Koepon Simply Red and Hul-Stein Nail ET.

 

The day concluded with the continuation of LKR farms dispersal which produced crossbred calved cows to £1995, incalf cows due August to £1732.50 and incalf heifers due August / September £1837.50 x3.

 

Buyers both in the ring and online from across the South and down from Shropshire produced the following averages:
