Clenchers at £3885 top SAC Collective Dairy Sale

Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s June Collective Dairy Sale was full of quality cows and heifers producing an electric trade throughout the catalogue.  A superb 2nd calver Clenchers Distefano Bounty VG86 topped the sale at 3,700gns for regular consigners Rea & Son (Ledbury, Herefordshire), who also sold the second calver Ledbury Ferraro Karet for 3,250gns.  Latterfield cows from JJ Wooldridge (Stonehouse Glos) were also in strong demand selling to 3,450gns for the 2nd lactation Newman Babs 2nd with others at 3,150gns and 3,050gns.  Other to 3,000gns for a second lactation cow from Moorshard and a third lactation cow from Keevil.  Dispersal sale cows from CG Capon (Isle of Wight) sold to 2,700gns for a May second calver by Wilder Dynamite.

A great run of fresh calved heifers from PJ Andrews’s Beneknowle Herd sold to 3,150gns for Anne 59th and Razor Vaakje 256th with others at 3,100gns.  Others over 3,000gns from Rea & Son, RK & SG Miller, MJK Reed and JJ Wooldridge.

The trade of the day was for the incalf heifers with no less than 24 selling for over £3,000 topping at 3,400gns x 2 for Dimond Farming Limited whose consignment of 6 averaged an impressive £3,368.75 and also at 3,400gns Beneknowle Helium Cosmopolitan 11th from PJ Andrews who sold others for 3,200gns and 3,150gns.  Merryfield Farmers Ltd topped at 3,100gns x 2 and the continued dispersal from Garrett Brothers 3,000gns x 4.

Bulling heifers sold to 1450gns x 2 for PJ Andrews Beneknowle herd, with commercial heifers from RG & A Pearce at 1400gns.  11 month old heifers from Beneknowle also sold for 1450gns as did yearling BF x heifers from D Plowright.

Heifer calves from Tombridge born May from the renowned Ghost family toped at 1050gns for Richard Bowdler Ltd with others from the same vendor at 900gns and 750gns x4.  A lot heifer calves from MKJ Reed & Son from the Foxy family sold for 800gns.

The continued dispersal for ST & TL Smith saw crossbred served heifers selling to 980gns x 3.
