
Illustrious Lustres Hit the Spotlight at Online Sale

The online Christmas edition of the Spotlight Sale returned for its third year continuing to ignite interest across the entire UK & Ireland.
The much admired Erie Unix S Lustre took the top spot at 4800gns (£5040), she is a granddaughter of the 2022 Royal Welsh Champion entered by Iwan Morgan. Hailing from the world famed Lustre family she sold to Noel and Daniel Willis (Conncorr) of Northern Ireland.
Close behind was David, Claire & Matt Jones’ Wiltor Fit Blexy a granddaughter of the American Show cow Rosiers Blexy Goldwyn Ex97 who won Grand Champion at the World Dairy Expo. Blexy sold for 4600gns (£4830) to the Hodgson family (Wormanby). Also from Wiltor was a granddaughter of Unique Dempsey Cheers Ex95 who sold for 3800gns to David & Ian Chave (Peacehay).
This year's sale was full of colour with Jack Watt's red show calf from the Jodies’ selling for 3000gns. Also included were four Brown Swiss which created some of the most spirited bidding to include Infinity Frosty who sold for 2800gns. After selling the Dam at Sedgemoor for 3100gns to Ireland, the same day the online sale concluded, Chris & Nicky Lockyer sold her November born Ayrshire heifer calf Crayola Hawaiian Denim for 900gns.
Embryos were also in demand with Belfast Doorman Lovestruck’s selling to 850gns and only one lot not finding a new home.
Live lots sold to the entire breadth of the UK and Ireland with a creditable clearance rate of 76% to give following averages:
