Local Dispersal pulls volume buyers from all corners

The Dispersal Sale for R & J Jones & Sons held at Sedgemoor Auction Centre drew a good crowd to Sedgemoor Auction Centre with buyers from Cornwall to Carmarthen and all counties in between producing 18 at £3000 and over. The commercial herd was much admired and saw a top price of 3200gns (£3360) twice firstly for fresh third calving cow by Winstar Medina and then by another third lactation cow that had calved in July and served back to calve next July.
A number of productive cows repeatedly in the 2500-3000 bracket. 24 month old calved heifers topped at 2900gns (£3045) for a Denovo Charter daughter.
The whole herd averaged an impressive £2345 (to include all faults)
The sale started with the 24:24 Delaval Herringbone parlour that sold for £30,000.
A guest consignment of crossbred Incalf heifers that travelled across from Cardigan, West Wales for DM, GL & D Griffiths sold to 1800gns and averaged an impressive £1543.
