Oulton House Farm Ltd Dispersal Sale

The end of a farming contract at Higher Vexford Farm brought about the Dispersal of Oulton House Farm Ltd Herd at Sedgemoor Auction Centre on Tuesday 8th February.  The sale started with the first cow in the ring a 5th lactation November calved cow setting the trade selling for £1680. 

Being a predominantly autumn calving herd the lack of fresh milk did not deter purchasers with the sale topping at £2,467.50 for BB Battle Lulu SP, a third calver having calved in September last year, back in calf to Kelowna Mojo (British Blue) for September. This flying herd included a number of pedigree cows with YFarm Canonpower Small 2nd selling for £2,310, she was a third calver that had calved in August and was back in calf to British Blue for August. At £2,226 was BB Supershot Vixan 7th a second lactation September calver also due in August to the Blue.  September calved heifers also due again in August sold to £2,079 for a Montbeliarde Cross. 

Sedgemoor Auction Centre being located just of the M5 at Junction 24 draws purchasers from across the country in person and online with volume buyers on the day from Cornwall, Carmarthen, Devon and Gloucestershire. 

All 206 head forward to include all cows with faults (including 22 Spring Summer 2023 calved cows not yet served back) sold to average a creditable £1412.
