Robot Milked Cows in demand at SAC Spring Fever Sale

Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt report a continued strong trade for cows and heifers with strength and milk and especially those robot milked in demand.

A large entry of milk produced a joint top call of £3360 for the 2^nd lactation cow from RA & SA Reed Allerways Chief Jean 87^th and the March calved heifer Llanelen Lunser Blomke from TCD, CB & DE Jones.  The Jones’s robot milked cows and heifers were in demand on the day with second calvers from the Ruth family selling for £3255, from the Juliana family £3150 with 3^rd calvers again from the Ruth family at £3045.

Other calved heifers at £3307.50 Clenchers Renault Elsie 2^nd for Rea & Son who sold an Anemonelass at £3202.50 at the same price was Llanelen Episode Trudy from TCD, CB & DE Jones and Dorset Applejax Queen 5^th from Dimond Farming Ltd who also sold members of the Bride family at £3150 x 2.  Newmead Detroit Millie 3^rd from PC Pocock & Co also at £3150.

Incalf heifers from Hampshire Holsteins Ltd sold to £2625 x 2 for pedigree Beauworthy heifers due Aug/Sep at 2 years of age with others at £2572.50 for the same vendor as well as Dimond Farming Ltd for Dorset Applejax Molly & Whitetime.  £2520 x 2 for commercial heifers from RA & DA Plowright due May to the Hereford.  Montbeliarde x heifers due later in the year to Norweigan Red sold to £1995 x 2 for Rotherfield Farms LLP.

Bulling heifers to £1491 x 2 for ES Burrough & Son (Suffolk), Gurnsey bulling heifers to £1155 for T Penny & Son with yearling pedigree heifers from RA & DA Plowright at £1386 for Laram Hardy Cosmopolitan.

The day included the first consignment to disperse Laker Farm Partnerships commercial herd from Surrey.  Their Nov to April calved portion sold to £3150 x 2 for the March calved third lactation cow by De Oosterhof Battle ET and the fresh second lactation daughter of Overside Flinch ET, Feb calved third lactation cows at £3097.50.  Their calved heifers also topped at £3150 for the April calved Delicious Charl Hardball ET daughter.  The Jan calved Boghill Glamour Santos ET daughter served again in March sold for £3097.50.
