The Tonbrook Dispersal Kicks Off The Year

January 2026

The first dairy dispersal of 2026 saw a large contingent of buyers around the ring despite a subdued mood throughout the industry. The sale saw the long established Tonbrook herd from the Parry family from Monmouthshire disperse their entire pedigree and classified milking portion of their herd.

With the milk price crashing by a third or more in some cases the trade is finding new levels but it was particularly pleasing to see the demand received, create a level trade topping at 2250gns for a second lactation cow calved in December and by the Luster Bull.

Other freshly calved cows to 2200gns on more than on occasion. Autumn Calving cows to 2250gns and the overall average including all older, three quartered and faulted cows at £1602.
