Youngstock Trade takes off at SAC March Collective Sale

Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt report a phenomenal trade for youngstock at their March Collective Sale.
A smaller entry of fresh milk produced calved heifers to 3300gns, 3150gns & 3000gns for commercial heifers from Coombes Manor Farm Ltd with Peacehay Pileop Promis 5th from FH Chave & Son at 2900gns. 2nd lactation cows to 2800gns Coombes Manor Farm and 2600gns NL & GH Land with the same vendor selling a 3rd lactation cow from their Orcas herd at 2500gns.
The trade of the day was definitely for the youngstock. Following the dispersal of their cows last month Hampshire Holsteins Ltd offered their incalf and maiden heifers from their much admired Beauworthy herd. The incalf heifer Tamroses Buehler G Star due July to the Angus out of the VG85 SP dam sold to 2750gns with Sweetpeas Buehler Longchamp and Stars Buehler Swarovski both at 2700gns and others at 2650gns and 2500gns x 2.
Commercial bulling heifers from BM Coombes & Sons Ltd sold to 1380gns x 3 for daughters of Chase.
Yearling and younger heifers from Beauworthy sold to 1150gns for 8mth old heifers by Rebel Red and Blakely.
Ayrshire x heifer calves from RA & DR Plowright to 480gns x 2.
A day which saw many leaving empty handed and cattle travelling across the country produced the following impressive results:-
