The short notice dairy dispersal for RG & A Pearce drew buyers from across the entire South, Midlands and Wales to produce a top price of 2500gns.
The Montbeliarde cross cow topped the sale at 2500gns (£2625) selling to a fan of the breed from Devon, she had calved in December and was back running with the bull. A pedigree Holstein 2nd lactation cow having calved in January sold for 2450gns (£2572.5.) with 39 others over £2000. On the day both fresh calvers and those back in calf for the Autumn saw the strongest demand. The day saw a multitude of breeds, sizes and shapes recording 28 buyers and creating an all in average of £1723 for the 209 head sold.
