Hard work pays off for Vashti

Sales negotiator Vashti Cotten is celebrating after gaining a first- class honours degree in philosophy, politics and economics.
This feat would be impressive enough if she had devoted herself full-time to her studies, but she gained her degree alongside working full-time in the South Molton office of Greenslade Taylor Hunt.
Vashti said: “It was tricky studying alongside working. It meant working all day and then studying as soon as I got home from work in the evenings and on weekends for six years.
It was hard at times but I was always motivated when I thought about getting a degree at the end of it. My initial motivation to study was just pure interest and enjoyment in the subjects and I also wanted to continue academic learning whilst also working at GTH.”
Vashti is now taking a well-deserved break from intensive study, but hasn’t ruled out pursuing further learning in the future.
“For now, I am having a little break and sticking just with the 9-5!” said Vashti.
