Promotions announced at GTH

January 2025

Three members of staff at Greenslade Taylor Hunt have become Partners with the West Country property firm.

Robert Baker MRICS FAAV, Joseph Hughes MRICS and James Wotton MRICS FAAV all joined the GTH Partnership at the start of January.

In addition, Owen Setter and Olivia Saunders were promoted as Associates and Chris Holt has been named Property Management Partner.

“These new roles are well-deserved, and I send my sincere congratulations to each and every one of them,” said outgoing Chairman, Richard Webber.

He has now stood down from his two- year tenure as Chairman. Simon Havens has taken up the role with Will Handel announced as Deputy Chairman.

Robert Baker joined GTH in 2014 having qualified with a national firm. Brought up on a dairy farm on the Somerset Levels he has always had a keen interest in farming and rural affairs. Initially he worked from the Burnham-on-Sea office before moving to the firm’s Redhill, Bristol office in 2022 where he is now based.

He carries out farm and land agency alongside a range of professional work. In addition, he works at the livestock market every Saturday where he sells the stirks. He is also regularly on the rostrum at the firm’s land and property auctions.

Robert said: 'I'm delighted to be joining the GTH Partnership. No two days are the same as a surveyor and auctioneer which adds to the diversity of the role. I enjoy meeting clients day-to-day and assisting them on various agency, professional matters or about selling their livestock at market.”

Joseph Hughes joined Greenslade Taylor Hunt in February 2017, following a range of property and sales roles after graduating from Oxford Brookes University. He is a chartered commercial surveyor and RICS registered valuer.

He specialises in the acquisition, disposal and letting of all types of commercial property. He is also an experienced commercial valuer and also provides advice in landlord and tenant matters.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his young family as well as playing golf and tennis.

James Wotton joined the Greenslade Taylor Hunt agricultural team in 2014, having obtained a degree in Rural Land Management at the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester. James started as a graduate surveyor at the Sedgemoor Agricultural office and Honiton office thereafter. In 2023, James returned home to lead GTH's Ivybridge team in South Devon and can also be found on a Saturday at Sedgemoor Auction Centre selling calves and fodder, as well as being part of the farm sales team.

Owen Setter has worked in the property industry since 2009 and has a passion for all aspects of the business. He relocated to the West Country in 2017 and joined GTH in Yeovil. He then headed up the firm’s Langport office and now leads the partnership’s expanding New Homes Team. He marks seven years with the firm this February.

Customer satisfaction is at the heart of Owen’s ethos and he enjoys motivating his team to deliver superb, first-class service.

Chris Holt has spent two decades in the property industry. He joined GTH in 2019 and is responsible for the day-to-day performance of the block, estate and commercial management team. The department has expanded enormously and it now manages three times the number of properties since he joined.

Olivia Saunders works alongside Chris and since joining GTH in 2017 has obtained Assoc RICS followed by an industry specialised qualification with the Institute of Residential Property Management. In Olivia’s spare time she enjoys playing tennis and socialising with friends.
