Promotions announced at GTH

January 2024

Five members of staff have been promoted at leading South West property partnership Greenslade Taylor Hunt.

Andrew Preston, Mark Richards and Stephen Baimbridge have become Planning Partners, while Ania Packman and Laura Polley have been promoted to the role of Associates.

Ania is a valuation surveyor, based at GTH’s Yeovil office. She began her career as a graduate surveyor in London and having gained a masters in property valuation and law qualified as a member of the RICS in 2005. Now she specialises in a wide range of commercial and residential valuation work.

Newly promoted Planning Partners Andrew Preston, Mark Richards and Stephen Baimbridge and Associate Planning Consultant, Laura Polley, all work in the Development Land and Planning Department.

Laura joined GTH in 2018 having previously worked as a local authority planning officer. Laura provides expert planning advice to clients on a range of projects. This includes preparing and submitting pre-application enquiries and planning applications for a range of development types from householder planning applications through to proposals for new housing developments. Last year Laura gained her chartered status with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).

Andrew joined GTH in 1992 as a graduate in land management. He qualified as a Professional Associate with RICS in 1997 and became an Associate with Greenslade Taylor Hunt in 2013. Andrew has considerable experience in planning, working with corporate and private clients in promoting residential, commercial, agricultural and leisure developments throughout the South West. Andrew finds the most satisfaction from his role in being able to assist clients in achieving their desired outcomes, which can make a real difference to their lives.

Stephen joined GTH as an Associate in 2020 and is a chartered member of the RTPI. During nearly seven years at South Somerset District Council he fulfilled a variety of planning roles across planning policy and development management teams, culminating in being the council’s Chief Planner and lead specialist of all its built environment services. As a result, Stephen has a comprehensive understanding of the planning system, which he enjoys applying to his work, dealing with strategic land allocations and minor and major development.

Mark joined GTH in 2022 as an Associate. He is a chartered member of the RTPI and an experienced planning consultant. He has worked on a wide variety of development projects ranging from barn conversions, to the promotion of strategic land and renewable energy schemes on behalf of landowners, developers and institutional clients. Mark prides himself on providing expert advice to clients in identifying opportunities for development and is experienced in managing the planning application process from inception to conclusion.
