The Brief
The GTH Planning team were instructed to prepare a full planning application for the siting of a 30MW battery energy storage system at Neath, Port Talbot.
The Result
The process began with GTH carrying out the Sustainable Drainage Approving Body (SAB) process as part of the pre-application enquiry, before being instructed to prepare a full planning application. Working closely with a team of ecology, noise, heritage, drainage and fire safety specialists, planning permission was granted in a timely manner and under delegated powers.
The GTH Planning team have a 100% success record for BESS applications and this marks the latest in a growing list of successful projects. A testament to not only GTH’s breadth of experience but also commitment to working with clients and councils to contribute towards achieving UK ambitions in combating climate change and ensuring energy security.
