The Brief

The owner of the property recognised that the old, traditional, listed barns were no longer satisfactory for modern farming. This led them to seek a change of use of the buildings to create a luxurious and contemporary homestay. They approached GTH to help secure planning permission and architectural designs for this stunning development.

The Result

Our planning and architectural team assisted in the design of the scheme. The client noted that GTH “are bringing in modern and funky designs whilst at the same time celebrating traditional features”. Projects like these are no stranger to challenges and there were some planning issues related to the barns listed status, as well as certain ecological considerations. However, having a specialist planning department on hand to help navigate the challenges smoothed the way. At the end of the project the client remarked that “the depth of knowledge of the GTH Development Land and Planning department leads the way. I have great respect for GTH”.
