At a glance
- Land adjoining built up area of Stogursey
- Site designated as Amenity Open Space in Local Plan
- Proposal comprised high quality homes and a new permissive footpath link
- Full planning permission granted
The GTH planning team was appointed to prepare a full planning application for 5 No. dwellings on land to the south of High Street, Stogursey.
A key constraint was the site’s designation as an area of Amenity Open Space. To compensate for the loss of this designation the application proposed a new permissive footpath leading from the centre of the village and connecting into the wider public footpath network. This was accepted as providing a significant benefit for the local community.
The application was ultimately referred to the Planning Committee for determination with an officer recommendation for approval. The Committee subsequently resolved to approve the application and planning permission was subsequently granted following the completion of a S106 agreement to secure the provision of the permissive footpath.
