The Brief
The GTH Planning Team was appointed to seek planning permission for the engineering operations required to deliver wetland creation and river restoration works at Mornacott Farm, North Devon.
The Result
The design includes a new linking channel that will convey flows from the River Yeo into a series of swales and wetlands, ultimately connecting to a restored pond before discharging back to the river via an adjacent wet woodland. The project is specifically designed to improve ecological connectivity, enhance local biodiversity and water quality through the restoration of natural river-floodplain processes.
The application was approved under delegated powers and in good time. This is testament to the comprehensive approach taken by GTH, the client and the wider consultant team.
