Sedgemoor/Yeovil - Full-Time Agricultural Marketing Assistant

The Role:

Marketing acts as a crucial hub at GTH and the department’s remit continues to expand in line with the Partnership’s ambitions. We take pride in representing this strong brand with an envied reputation across the West Country.

This role has arisen due to the growth of our agricultural services across the firm, and will focus on our livestock, machinery and crop sales expansion based at Sedgemoor Auction Centre.

We are seeking a person with an agricultural or farm based background, together with proven marketing experience.

The role of Agricultural Marketing Assistant will be instrumental in promoting our agricultural services with an emphasis on the activity at busy livestock market days and special sales directed by the teams at Sedgemoor Market. The role will also include wider strategic marketing projects of benefit to the agricultural side of the business.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the role includes:

  • Creation of video, photo and written content to promote Sedgemoor (all departments) and the wider Agricultural services GTH provides;
  • Acting as a ‘roving reporter’, with a presence at regular and special sales, as well as events, reacting quickly to events as they happen;
  • Creating and posting of social media content and responding to messages and comments, as appropriate; 
  • Brand guardian – ensuring GTH brand guidelines are met at all times when producing content and other material;
  • Updating website sections including the agricultural sales calendar, sale reports, South West Winter Fair page and assistance with other Agricultural sections/pages as required;
  • Assisting with summer show planning and assisting with set-up and pack-up;
  • Assisting with compiling properties/farms & land for South West Farmer adverts and circulating to social media manager for use on other channels;
  • Working with the wider marketing team on highlighting aspects of our Agricultural professional services for wider promotion, including the staff and team profiles and news;
  • Championing SWF monthly advertorial by liaising with the staff tasked to write the articles;
  • Commissioning and/or preparing adverts for the information screens at Sedgemoor;
  • Ensuring up-to-date cross-selling adverts are included in catalogues and refreshed regularly;
  • Spotting stories that could be shared with PR for wider promotion.
This is a full time, permanent role working four days between Monday – Friday and most Saturdays, the need to be flexible is key to this role.  Initially you will be based in our Yeovil office whilst training and following training  you will be based predominantly at Sedgemoor Auction Centre at Junction 24, M5.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Background in agriculture strongly preferred
  • Social media content creation and posting on popular channels including Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Some experience of video production and photography an advantage.
  • A keen eye for design with some experience in creating visual assets.
  • Ability to write accurate, coherent copy.
  • Self-motivation, drive and enthusiasm.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thought and initiative.
  • Clean driving licence and own car.

Taunton - Chartered Architectural Technologist/Technician

The Role

Our busy and rapidly expanding Architectural and Design team, an integral part of the wider Development Land & Planning department, are searching for a knowledgeable and friendly Architectural Technologist to see projects through all stages of the RIBA plan of work. We are looking for a professional who will:

  • Work on a diverse range of projects, including residential new build, conversion and refurbishment projects throughout the RIBA work stages
  • Lead on concept designs and planning drawings 
  • Prepare building regulations drawings and submissions 
  • Provide technical and building regulations expertise 
  • Liaise with client, consultants, contractors, Local Authority, Approved Building Control Inspector, warranty providers, product manufacturers
  • Produce detailed drawings and specifications for tender and construction
Your skills

You will be part of a small and agile design team ensuring that our clients’ expectations are not just met, but exceeded. To be considered for the role you will have:

  • ·A minimum 3 years’ experience of working on and understanding of current UK building regulations
  • ·Be CIAT Chartered Architectural Technologist, qualified by experience considered
  • ·A keen eye for design as well as the technical skills in working with new and existing buildings
  • Fast, efficient and excellent knowledge of Autocad 
  • Knowledge of REVIT is advantageous but not essential
  • Knowledge of NBS, specification writing and tender preparation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines
  • Evidence of being able to perform well as an individual and as part of a team
