Professional Support Assistant - Development, Land and Planning, Taunton
This is a full time, permanent position working Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5pm commencing asap.
Summary of Position:
The position of Professional Support Assistant is to provide support to the Development Surveyors in our Development, Land & Planning department in Taunton. The department includes Architects, Planners and Surveyors. The team deals with all architectural, planning and development matters covering the South West of England from its Taunton and Exeter offices.
This role will involve co-ordinating planning, legal and technical research and the preparation of associated letters/reports, co-ordinating the preparation of marketing material and marketing of immediate and strategic land residential, mixed-use and commercial sites, understanding and application of Estate Agency compliance – AMLR, Bribery Act, BPRs/CPRs, file proformas and other associated legislation, dealing with telephone, email and other enquires, and occasional carrying our site visits/viewings. This is a predominantly office based role.
The job involves using Rightmove Plus, Promap, Land Registry website, Local Planning/Highway Authorities websites, utilities websites, dropbox etc.
Educated to A/Btec/Degree level
Ideally Planning, but full training will be given.
MS Word, Excel, Publisher, Dropbox/Wetransfer, Glenigan*, Promap*, Argus Developer*, CAD* (*not essential and can be trained)
Qualities and Attitude:
Position requires being professional, diligent, proactive, self-starter, time management, multi-tasker, prioritisation of jobs, problem solving, decision making, being part of a team (team player) and working with others – good inter-personal skills and communication essential. Background in working for a surveyor’s practice, in local authority or for a house builder/developer will be helpful.
