Lettings Property Manager (Somerset Branches) – Residential Lettings Division 

Due to internal promotions we have a number of vacancies within our lettings division across our Somerset Branches.

The successful candidates will be responsible for providing our clients with a knowledgeable, friendly and dependable service including liaising with Landlords, Tenants and internal Stakeholders.  Compliance is also a big part of this role; ensuring that at all times our Landlords and Tenants are complying with the most up to date legislation for residential properties.  
 
 You will effectively lead and work as part of a small team ensuring that our clients’ expectations are not just met, but exceeded.  The desire and ability to grow our portfolio and the motivation to develop the team and processes are all key objectives for this role.

These are busy, fast moving roles, and the ideal candidates will need to be resilient, have the ability to prioritise and remain calm under pressure at all times.

These are full time roles, working Monday – Friday 8.45am – 5.30pm and every other Saturday 9am – 1pm. Salary is negotiable dependant on experience.

The Successful Candidate

We are looking for dynamic, confident and motivated Lettings Managers.
The successful candidates must have;

  • An ARLA qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Previous lettings experience of at least 2 years
  • Previous management experience leading a small team
  • Proven track record in valuations and building new business
  • An outgoing and confident personality
  • A driven and pro-active approach to work
  • Excellent, highly organised administrative and typing skills
  • Efficient approach with an ability to work independently
  • Be able to work well under pressure
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills
  • Excellent MS Office Skills
These roles will suit individuals who are currently working in a similar role that want to progress to the next stage of their career.  Previous experience in Property Management Legislation and Residential Lettings are essential.

Lettings Negotiator/Administrator/Trainee (fixed term contract & flexible hours)– Burnham on Sea Office

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy Burnham on Sea team, which manages a large portfolio of residential let properties across the Burnham on Sea and Wells area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing our clients with a knowledgeable, friendly and dependable service including liaising with Landlords, Tenants and internal Stakeholders.  Compliance is also a big part of this role; ensuring that at all times our Landlords and Tenants are complying with the most up to date legislation for residential properties.  
 
 You will effectively work as part of a small, multi-disciplined team ensuring that our clients’ expectations are not just met, but exceeded.  

This is a busy, fast moving role, and the ideal candidate will need to be resilient, have the ability to prioritise and remain calm under pressure at all times.

This is a full time flexible role (initially on a fixed term contract until 31.03.21) working Monday – Friday.  The hours are flexible for the right candidate, and can be worked around school hours/other commitments. Salary is negotiable dependant on experience.

Intermediate Architectural Technician - Taunton

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy Architectural Services Team in the Taunton Development Land & Planning Office, as an Intermediate Architectural Technician.  

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing our clients with a knowledgeable, friendly and dependable service on a variety of diverse projects, through all stages of the RIBA plan of work, with particular emphasis on the production of building regulations drawings and providing technical and building regulations knowledge and assistance to the Architectural Team. As a technician you will be heavily involved in the preparation of the building regulations drawings and submissions and manage the process, lead on the technical design element of the project, assist with the development of standard details and assist the team with the construction detailing and technical drawings. You will work as part of a small and dynamic design team ensuring that our clients’ expectations are not just met, but exceeded.

To be considered for the role you will have:

•    Proven experience as an architectural technician, working on a diverse range of projects, including residential new build, conversion and refurbishment, listed and agricultural projects
•    Excellent knowledge of Autocad and an excellent technical knowledge of construction and the current building regulations is essential
•    Knowledge of REVIT is advantageous
•    Knowledge of NBS and specification writing is advantageous
•    Excellent communication skills
•    The ability to work well under pressure
•    Evidence of being able to perform well as an individual and as part of a team

This is a full time, permanent position. A degree qualification or similar level in Architectural Technology, Construction or the Built environment would be extremely advantageous but not essential, qualified by experience would also be considered, with a minimum 3 years’ proven experience of working on and an understanding of the current building regulations.

Taunton Commercial - Administrator

This is a full time, permanent position commencing asap.

An opportunity has arisen for an Administrator to support our Commercial Property Partner and team in our busy office in Taunton.  The role is key to the success of the Head of department in providing excellent service to both external and internal customers. This is a demanding role in a busy environment.

Specific tasks include:

  • Filing, administration, archiving, scanning of documents.
  • Prepare documents and marketing particulars dictated via audio.
  • Being part of the extended team answering telephone enquiries, directing calls to colleagues, assisting with queries and taking messages.
  • Occasional accompanied property viewings with clients.
  • Brief local advertising agencies/newspapers on our local advertising requirements.
  • Using MS Word and Excel to generate reports and schedules, prepare letters for onward transmission using MS Outlook.  
  • Progress chasing as directed.  Liaising with other departments and reporting to Head of Department accordingly.
  • Supporting other members of the team as and when required.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will have a great attitude to work, be personable and extremely keen to learn. The right candidate needs to have previous experience in working in a busy multi-disciplined department.  Previous experience is essential in audio typing, using MS Word and MS Excel. A typing test will be required as part of the interview process.

Planning Consultant - Taunton

This is a full time, permanent position commencing asap.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Consultant in our busy Development, Land & Planning department in Taunton.  This is a demanding role in a busy environment.   You will be working amongst a dedicated and vibrant team of Planning Consultants and Architectural professionals based in our Taunton Office.

  • Manage individual workload and cases

  • Create and submit refusal appeals
  • Pitch for professional instructions
The Successful Candidate

Must have;
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Understanding of residential, commercial and agricultural planning
  • Relevant qualifications (MRTPI preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Would suit a Planning Officer with Local Government experience
  • Ability to lead and influence others
This will suit a dynamic forwarding thinking individual who is currently working in a similar role who wants to embark upon a new and interesting role.
